Damn cool track by “Jai Paul”, a rather unknown artist/producer from London. Just found the track around the web and it looks like I missed it somehow since it’s not the newest shit, but I really like the style of this tune, so  I just uploaded it for you folks!

Just stumbled over two nice track by “Jamaica” called “Cross the Fader” & “Short & Entertaining”. I guess you all know the first single “I Think I Like U 2″, nonetheless I wanna share it again in decent quality (+ the Database Remix). So in case that you like their music, you may show them some love on their site, buy their new album as soon as it is released (end of august) or even listen to their older tunes, since they are actually no new band (Jamaica was formerly know as “Poney Poney” and their older tunes sound pretty much the same – with slight difference).

This song has been a favourite of mine ever since i heard it first, a long, long time ago and anyone who has known me since the age of 18 knows ho much i was into this music instead of the then popular charts – i was a huge Al Green fan and his take on soul music. For those of you who still have my old, old mixtapes you will surely recall this tune and i even remember sampling it for a tune on my headz/downbeat album (think early mo wax/ ninja tune etc) that i finished in 2001 but never released. Time to re-release that album digital – now thats a thought!

A true sade classic got the Paul Nice remix treatment some time ago, or rather the Lummidee drums, but anyways this one been a favourite with us for a long, long time. I especially liked that he added that short audio clip in the beginning wih that guy singing a few lines from this tune, which is taken froma  DVD before her final concert in LA. Gracious! Even though there is always been a huge dispute in Europe if she can sing or not, in the states she is being reckognized as a true soul sister. Check her old works and go for that truly soulful and uplifting spirit.

I remember back in the day when you used to ask the hip hop headz who was their favourite singer  it would mostly be Sade and a few other exceptions, but everyone else was considered R&B. Not her! Her latest album wasn’t all that but Sade was a lot of inspiration especially in the 80ies.

So have fun with her classic tune: “Nothing can come between us” with a little additional drum edit by Paul Nice, taken from th bigegste 2003 riddem which name i have forgottten, as usual – lol. Enjoy

Sade – Nothing Can Come Between Us (Paul Nice edit)

Well everyones been talking about their other (the real new) video “Sooner or later” but this one somehow slipped my radar. Both tracks have been featured on this website, last year already and this one in particular has benn a favourite with our YUM YUM crowds for some time now, but it takes nothing away from their “freshness”, quite the opposite . So Big up Xaphoon & Chiddy! Support them late august when the long awaited album drops. One of the few worth buying these days. Ps we are planning a full on german tour with them – with every YUM YUM city involved. Its gonna be good for the artistst themselves to play in real packed spots. More on that tour and their new album very soon..
